Latest news | 4 december 2012 Conference MEASURES TO OVERCOME THE CRISIS — CHALLENGES, PRIORITIES AND RISKS IN THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA AND AP VOJVODINA 2013—2020
Agency for Balanced Regional Development of AP Vojvodina organized a conference titled Measures to Overcome the Crisis — Challenges, Priorities and Risks in the Republic of Serbia and AP Vojvodina 2013—2020 on November 30, 2012 (the Hotel Park, Novi Sad), under the auspices of the Government of Vojvodina and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA). The conference is the fourth in a series of international conferences sponsored by ADA; the first three conferences (2008, 2009, 2010) were organized by the Centre for Strategic Economic Studies "Vojvodina—CESS", and since 2012 the Agency for Balanced Regional Development of AP Vojvodina, as the legal successor of "Vojvodina—CESS", has taken over the role of the organizer. The conference was officially opened by Mr. Wolfgang Wagner, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in the Republic of Serbia. Mr. Wagner spoke about the importance of cooperation between the Austrian government with the republic and provincial authorities in Serbia and the hitherto results of this cooperation, such as EUR 5 million allocated to AP Vojvodina within the project "Strategic Partnership in Support of the Integrated Regional Development Plan of the AP Vojvodina 2007—2012". In accordance with the mission of the Agency for Balanced Regional Development of AP Vojvodina and through an open dialogue between the representatives of the academic community, on one hand, and policy makers, on the other hand, the conference had the goal to provide professional public with the overview of possible measures and policies for overcoming the economic crisis in the Republic of Serbia, with special emphasis on the role of AP Vojvodina in this context.
